There are those who argue that abstinence is a better solution for lowering teenage pregnancy rates. However, promoting education on contraceptives is a more effective solution in lowering teen pregnancy rates than promoting education on abstinence because it is the cause of historic declines in teen birth rates, and it's a more practical/realistic solution also it's more effective teaching the young teenagers how to use them. A solution to this concerning topic would be for Schools to make programs that promote the use of contraceptives as it is a better solution to bring awareness to continuing to lowering teen pregnancy rates rather than promoting the use of abstinence alone. To emphasize one last time, Teenagers being sexually active has already been normalized so rather than teaching them to retain abstinence, showing them how to use contraceptives and promoting them to use them is more effectively lowering teen pregnancy rates. It's better to show someone how to do something the right way than to tell them what they did was wrong.
