Hello DOA fans worldwide! We have just broken the 500 signature barrier! Thanks and congratulations to you all on this milestone!
Did everyone see the images of the new DOA5LR Fireworks stage (released on August 11th)? It is basically a DOAX stage, featuring the volleyball net and the Zack of All Trades boat! Check images out here: http://on.fb.me/1hnKBqr
We are now heading into the first full weekend that the petition will have been live. I see this as a CRUCIAL time, and a period during which we really need to step up our efforts in publicisng the petition as we go about our daily internet lives! Internet activity is much increased over the weekend, but stories about DOAX3 have died down since the initial announcement, so word of mouth is really important now.
As shown by the recent Kickstarter for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the enthusiastic running of a campaign is crucial. That Kickstarter was so successful because the people behind it really pushed it and kept new backers interested by adding new stretch goals and giving detailed updates over time, etc. To apply this philosophy to the DOAX3 petition, it really is just a case of constantly shouting about the petition wherever you can. If we, the people who have already signed the petition, do not publicise it, then nobody else is going to. I have already seen two similar petitions which only gained a handful of replies because I guess they were just not publicised. I know we have had many people doing their best to make people aware of this petition and I am really grateful for that. In addition, I have gone as far myself as messaging random people on Facebook who have shown an interest in DOAX3 and we actually gained a large number of signatures from those efforts (thank you to all of you!)
To continue the campaign for worldwide release I have devised a plan of action. See if you are able to help by carrying out any (or all) of the following actions:
1. Use the shorthand link (http://chn.ge/1Iwi1sC) to advertise the petition on Twitter, using hashtags #DOAX3, #DeadOrAliveXtreme3 and #DOA5LR. It might be an idea to try and bring the petition to the attention of some high profile people in the games industry of whom you think there might be a slight chance of retweeting the link. All it takes is one big name with an army of followers to retweet it and suddenly word will spread like wildfire.
2. Advertise the petition on Facebook, either in Facebook gaming groups you are members of, or just on your wall to your friends.
3. Put the link in your signatures at gaming forums. This way, every time you make a post you will be advertising the petition and potentially someone will see the link and sign. I see this one as a low-effort, high-potential reward exercise!
4. Have a think whether there are any large online communities you are a member of where you can advertise the petition, ESPECIALLY if they are NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE communities (for the particular reason that I myself will probably not have already tried to advertise in these places, I've pretty much only covered English language media). I don't really condone spamming (even if I might be guilty of it myself), but to be honest all marketing is essentially spamming, so we need to just be relentless.
5. If PC users are able to advertise the petition through Steam then that would be really helpful, I think. I do not use or really understand Steam, so this is a currently-untapped large potential target for signees!
6. If anyone has any good ideas of how to get the word out then feel free to send a message to my Change.org Inbox, or just carry out the ideas yourselves. All publicity is good publicity so just go for it!!
I wish you all a good weekend and remember, as Hitomi says, "(We) just keep getting stronger!"
