As the world witnesses Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, we, the SwiftiesForPalestine Community, come together to petition Taylor Swift to immediately do the following: 

 

- Join other artists calling for a ceasefire and sign artists4ceasefire.org 

- Remove her music from Israel on streaming services such as Spotify

- Cut all ties with Israeli companies

- Remove The Eras Tour Film from Israel

- Cut all ties with Disney (The BDS movement calls for pressure against Disney due to their complicity in Israeli apartheid)

- Speak out in support of Palestine & uplift the voices of Palestinians to bring awareness to her fanbase

- Ask the Swiftie fanbase to call their government representatives to demand a ceasefire

 

The official academic & cultural BDS movement condemned Taylor for screening her movie in Isreal, and called on her to use her voice:

"This only gives a cultural cover for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Even if artists do not have the power to cancel complicit screenings, they should at least publicly demand it to distance themselves from Israel's genocide and apartheid against Palestinians."

The Israeli government is unquestionably an apartheid state with policies of oppression, ethnic cleansing, human rights violations, & occupation.

As part of this struggle, we believe that an economic, intellectual and artistic boycott is an effective way of speaking out against these crimes. Global boycotts against South Africa in in the 60s & 70s were an integral part of the dismantling of Apartheid. We believe this is the way forward to ending apartheid and genocide against Palestinians. 

We are devoted Taylor Swift fans but can't in good conscience support someone on the wrong side of history.

Swifties believe that it is the responsibility of all, especially those with a platform, to use their voice and make actions to aid the people of Palestine.

We ask for Taylor Swift to look to people such as Lorde, who has cancelled a planned concert in Israel following an online campaign by activists opposed to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Lorde stated she has cancelled the concert due to “overwhelming number of messages and letters” she had received as having led to her decision.

Lorde follows a number of other artists who have cancelled performances in Israel including Elvis Costello, Lauryn Hill and Gorillaz.

 

The world is bearing witness to a genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. 

With figures as of 02/12/2023 stating:

15,000+ killed, including 6,150 children, and 33,000 wounded in the Gaza Strip.

240 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem

 

This petition is for Taylor Swift to join us in opposing Israel and to be on the right side of history!
