Jeffrey Forrest is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was arrested in 2015 and served several days in jail before being released on a $100,000 bond in Taylor County, Abilene, Texas. He was scheduled to go to trial in August 2016, but fled several days prior. Forrest was able to elude authorities until May 8, 2020, when he was captured in Jalisco, Mexico. At the time of his arrest, he was on the US Marshalls 15 most wanted list. While on the run, Forrest used the dark web (Tor) to harass and torment others, including his ex-wife. He threatened to kidnap his children and disappear with them. His bond was increased to $1 million during his time as a fugitive. He will soon appear in Taylor county and a bond of any amount leaves the possibility that he could be released. Those closest to this case would like to ask the court to deny any bond and to keep this predator in custody until trial.
