2019թ․-ի դեկտեմբերի 1-ին «Դիլիջան ազգային պարկի» ղեկավար և «Գետափ» ռեստորանա- հյուրանոցային համալիրի տնօրեն Սուրեն Աղաջանյանը կրակել և սպանել է կերակրող մայր շանը,  որը ապրում էր ռեստորանի տարածքում և վերջերս ծննդաբերել էր։

Ըստ ականատեսների տվյալների՝ Սուրեն Աղաջանյանը զինված հրացանով կրակել է շանը ռեստորանի տարածքում՝ այցելուների առջև։ Առաջին կրակոցից հետո խեղճ կենդանին վիրավորված փորձել է փախչել և թաքնվել մոտակա ավտոմեքենայի ներքևում, սակայն Աղաջանյանը հետապնդել է շանը և սպանել։

Կենդանապաշտպան ակտիվիստները անմիջապես ահազանգել են տեղի ոստիկանություն, և ի զարմանս նրանց Դիլիջանի ոստիկանության պետի տեղակալ Գևորգյանից ստացել հետևյալ պատասխանը՝ «հա դե, եթե իրա սեփական անասուննա եղել, ի՞նչ կա դրա մեջ»:

Ավելին, Աղաջանյանը չի Էլ թաքցրել, որ ինքն է սպանել շանը, արդարացել է՝ ակնհայտորեն սպառնալիք չներկայացնող շանը ներկայացնելով որպես վայրի, խելագար, կատաղած և վտանգավոր։ Նույնիսկ եթե շունը սպառնալիք ներկայացներ, Աղաջանյանի վարքն արդարացման ենթակա չէ։

Ի հիշատակ այս անմեղ էակի, որը դարձել է մարդկային դաժանության զոհ, մենք պահանջում ենք Սուրեն Աղաջանյանին ենթարկել պատասխանատվության և պատժել օրենքի տառի ողջ խստությամբ։ Մենք նաև պահանջում ենք նրա հեռացումը «Դիլիջան ազգային պարկի» ղեկավարի պաշտոնից, քանզի հավատացած ենք, որ կենդանիների տառապանքի և ցավի նկատմամբ նման անտարբերություն ունեցող մարդը ՉԻ´ ԿԱՐՈՂ և ՉՊԵ´ՏՔ է պատասխանատու լինի վայրի բնության պաշտպանության համար։


On December 1st 2019 the head of ''Dilijan'' National Park and the owner of ''Dilijan Getap'' restaurant, Suren Aghajanyan, has shot and killed a nursing dog that was living in the area of the restaurant and had recently given birth to her puppies. 

According to eyewitness accounts, Suren Aghajanyan, armed with an assault rifle has shot the dog in front of the visitors of the restaurant in broad daylight. After the first shot the poor animal sought to escape by hiding under the nearest car, but Aghajanyan followed it and finished what he started by shooting the dog to death. 

The animal rights activists immediately contacted the local police forces, and to their great surprise the deputy-head of the local police department, Gevorgyan responded by saying: "So what? It was his own animal, what's wrong with that?!''. 

Moreover, Aghajanyan himself didn't shy away to declare openly that he was the one killing the dog, justifying it be portraying an obviously non-threatening dog, as a wild, deranged, infected with rabies dangerous animal. Even if the dog would have posed a threat, the actions undertaken by Aghajanyan have no justification whatsoever. 

In the memory of this innocent living being that was killed so brutally, we demand Suren Aghajanyan to be held responsible and punished to the full extent of the law. We also demand his dismissal from the office of the Head of ''Dilijan'' National Park, as we believe that someone with such disregard for animal suffering and pain CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT be responsible for nature and wildlife preservation.
