Somerset's Bus Services had a rating on -41% in a recent poll by IPSOS

This poll sent out a message that Somerset has suffered a decline in its bus services for many years and this is one of many results that shows that our buses services have been and continue to be neglected. In Taunton we have lost so many services leaving parts of our growing town without a viable bus service and those that remain struggle to cope, such as the 28 from Minehead which acts as town bus for Staplegrove.It is already over subscribed from the West Somerset town, meaning that residents give up travelling and add to the decline. In Holway, frequent cancellations and unreliable services have resulted in a once 15 minute frequency reduce to hourly, citing a decline in demand by the operator. if you live in the new development at Orchard Grove, you have a new bus service at the Park and Hail on the Wellington Road, but at the other end no such joy and will force new home owners to drive. Our key workers at Musgrove Park Hospital are forced to find alternative transport if they live within 3 miles, this is ok if you live on the P&R but not in Wellsprings or Lyngford.
