To all of you on teamNavy & the sensory friendly checkout supporters here is today's update! After speaking yesterday with one of the managers at our local Target about our experience she took my suggestions and story to her in store bosses. This morning I met with 3 managers and shared the sensory friendly checkout idea with them. I let them know that 2 local pages shared with followers and that we have over 250 signatures and over 60 shares in less than 24 hours! They thanked me for bringing this to their attention and reassured me that they have already discussed sensitivity and awareness with each member of their staff and are continuing training in that respect. As far as actually making any changes to even just a few lanes they said their hands are tied because of corporate. They did however give me a direct contact number and encouraged me to call and share the petition with them and said if we get an ok than they will 100% implement sensory friendly checkouts. Since I am a dog with a bone I will be pushing this further! I see a very simple solution to an issue plaguing my family and other like us. Just a few simple in store changes can be monumental! I encourage all of you to keep spreading the word by liking or sharing or BOTH!
