Thank you one and all for supporting my campaign ColourMeRight, victory with 1348 signatures. I am still in awe of how all this unfolded and led us to this incredible milestone. I started the petition to seek change for a cause I believe in and realized - Change is only a click way and every signature counts. We can really make a difference if we choose to rise up...our voices can matter. Here is now Dark Brown Woman’s second petition campaigning against Colourism - Lakme - Be Inclusive and Represent Diversity of Indian Women We face colour prejudice and we somehow choose to remain silent in a country obsessed with fair skin. ColourMeRight campaign represents countless number of people who have always been made to feel ‘invisible’ because of their skin colour. The first petition owes it success to the many women and men who declared their support. Supporters from near & far and people like you who signed my petition - showing me that I am not alone. Together we achieved the below - Tanishq's response to the petition that deemed its victory: Tanishq has promised to continue creating commercials that will reflect the truly diverse nature of the country. I was definitely surprised when I read Tanishq’s positive response to my petition on Change.org. One of the biggest brands of our time has publicly committed to ensure diversity and inclusivity in their ad campaigns. It goes to show that Tanishq cares. This is a huge step in the right direction for all dark-skinned people who have faced colour prejudice all their lives.This could set a precedence for others as well.
