Take Them Down: Rally at the Bastrop County Courthouse 8:30a-11:30a.
We are still waiting on a formal response from the court as to when will have a special meeting to discuss removal of the monuments. Judge Pape is making an attempt to pacify the movement by erecting a monument to show the nations progress towards equality however, the events that occurring around the U.S. is because there is still a huge gap in equality and equity for African Americans. We are not asking for another monument, we are asking that these monuments be removed because they are a constant reminder of the lack of equality in our community and our country. Attached you will find the latest article published in the Austin American Statesmen about the movement.
We are so very close to 5,000 signatures. Please continue spreading the petition across your social media platform each day and contacting the court via phone, email, or mail in favor of removal of the statues, and a special meeting date be set to discuss. Thank you for your support and efforts!
