We received news on yesterday that two commissioners of the court have made the request to have our request to discuss removal of all confederate monuments from Bastrop County placed on the agenda for discussion during a special meeting. The special meeting would allow for more time for citizens to voice their support for the removal. The date has not been determined, but we will keep you updated on on our progress and mobilization efforts.
This is fantastic news and your efforts played a huge role in building the momentum we needed spark this discussion..... between now and then we need your help in continuing to spread the petitions on all your social media platforms. Keep calling, writing, emailing and/or faxing the commissioners court in support of the monument removal and why, and stay tuned to our FB page for more updates.

Before we got the news yesterday another article was published with some very interesting comments from Judge Pape in reference to our cause. We can only hope and pray that in spite of the comments he made in the article, he will hear our arguments with and open mind, and a compassionate heart.
