I have witnessed first-hand the devastating effects knife crime has on our younger generation in Southend-on-Sea. This personal experience has illuminated the urgent need for preventative measures to be taken. Knife crime in the UK is increasing at an alarming rate, especially among the youth. There were around 46,265 offences involving a knife or sharp instrument in England and Wales in 2020 according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
