Take Action: Oppose Backyard Chickens In Our City

The Issue

URGENT NOTICE TO ALL FLAGLER BEACH RESIDENTS 🚫
PROTECT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD – OPPOSE BACKYARD CHICKENS IN OUR CITY

A proposal is moving forward to allow chickens to be kept in residential areas of Flagler Beach.

This is BAD POLICY that puts YOUR family and property at risk.

❌ Why You Should Be Concerned:
✅ NOISE & ODOR: Chickens make constant noise, attract flies, and create foul smells drifting into your yard and home.

✅ DISEASES: Chickens carry Salmonella, Avian Influenza, Campylobacter, parasites, and mites — posing serious risks to children, pets, and the elderly.

✅ PREDATORS & RODENTS: Chicken coops attract raccoons, coyotes, rats, opossums, and feral cats.

✅ PROPERTY VALUES: Backyard chickens lower property values and quality of life.

✅ NO CLEAR ENFORCEMENT PLAN: Who will ensure safe disposal of chicken waste? Who will monitor disease outbreaks and neglected flocks? No answers.

🏠 Your Right to Peaceful Enjoyment is Under Threat
City ordinances are meant to protect the health, welfare, and safety of residents. This proposal fails on every count.
