Take A Stand: Reject Steve Bannon.

Take A Stand: Reject Steve Bannon.
The Issue
Steve Bannon’s recent statements have made it clear that he and his followers are determined to undermine the principles of our democracy. His hateful and divisive rhetoric is a direct threat to the values many of us hold dear.
Bannon's inflammatory remarks are not just words; they are a call to action for those who wish to see our democratic principles eroded. His mansplaining promotes fear, hatred, and division. If left unchallenged, it will have dire consequences for our society.
We cannot afford to remain silent. This campaign is a rallying cry for all democracy-loving citizens who are repulsed by Bannon’s wingnuttery. It’s time to say, “Not on my watch.”
Why This Matters
Certain factions within American society, particularly those aligned with MAGA, have co-opted symbols of democracy. Christianofascists have appropriated the American flag, claimed the term "patriot," and redefined "We The People." Do you now hesitate to display the stars and stripes for fear of being associated with the Sarah Palins of the world?
I truly feel your pain, in every cell of my body.
Looking to reclaim patriot, and inspired by America’s first patriot, John Hancock, I penned the following to Bannon, “Been hearing you’re making threatening statements about retribution and telling people to be afraid of you, Trump, and his MAGA minions returning to power. Well, la de dah, ain’t that special -- let me make this easy. If you’re making a list of people to come after, make sure you put me right at the top. The fucking tippe top … and, for Jesus H. Christ’s sake, don’t forget to spell my name correctly: C-H-A-Z S-T-E-V-E-N-S.”
Posted on Twitter and overnighted to Bannon, that letter garnered massive views, numerous shares, and an overwhelming number of positive comments. But I didn't want to stop there. Knew I couldn't be the only one willing to take a stand. There had to be others ready to sign their names boldly, proclaiming just as I did, "Not on my watch."
So here we are, fellow patriot. Sometimes I imagine that you, like me, feel isolated in your thoughts and beliefs—angry, confused, bitter, even more confused, wondering what the hell happened.
Taking a Stand
The Declaration of Independence has 56 signatures. One name stands out among them, John Hancock. His bold signature has become synonymous with patriotism and defiance in the face of tyranny.
I invite you to channel your inner John Hancock and stand with me against Steve Bannon’s drive to end the American way. Add your name to this campaign to demonstrate that you refuse to be intimidated by his hateful and divisive language.
Sure, it’s just a campaign of signatures, but these are our signatures and our stand. Share your reasons and inspire others to join our cause. Together, we can amplify our voices and show the world we are not meek. Let’s send a clear message: we will protect our country and reject those who seek to destroy it.
