"Olive is an essential product for our culture, our cuisine and for the Aegean Region; and now it’s about to be damaged in our country. Turkey, which is the biggest olive producer in this region is now trying to eradicate olive production with its own hands. Ever since 2006, olive cultivation and nature is desired to be slaughtered. If the law draft goes through, neither the olive on our table, nor the olive cultivation will ever be the same. The olive branch will be rooted out from the Anatolian territories! Now it’s time to sign for this campaign to ask for the authorities to relinquish from the olive groves and rescind the law draft which equals to death warrant to olives! If the law draft goes through, our olive groves will be a source of income for the mine owners, energy companies, road contractors and construction companies. The lands that feed us, help many families to earn their livings will be worksites, toxic storage fields. The new law is not just going to cause this disaster but also change the whole 'olive groves’ meaning completely. With this law draft, olive groves which are smaller than 25 decares (25.000 square meters) will be taken as common land. If it’s considered that the olive groves in Turkey have approximately 10 decares field widths, the alarm bells can be heard much more closely. We can take action all together and save the olive groves, let everyone in Turkey be informed about this issue and get together. Please sign the petition, share with friends so that we can spread the word.
