STOP SHOOTING RANGE & GUN STORE FROM OCCUPYING FORMER ANDERSONS MARKET, ON SYLVANIA AVE

The Issue

There is a proposal to put a Shooting Range and Gun Store at 7600 Sylvania Avenue; this building was formerly occupied by the Andersons Market and is immediately adjacent to our residential neighborhood, the Kingston Residence of Sylvania, and the Progressive Wellness Medical Office Building.

This shooting range would be within .6 miles of Sylvania Southview Highschool and .3 miles of the King Road Branch Library.

The HOA has not yet formed an official position for or against this proposal; we will be setting up a community forum for our residents to voice their opinions, potential concerns, and questions.

The city will be holding a public hearing before the City Council in Council Chambers in the Municipal Building at 6635 Maplewood Ave in Sylvania. The hearing will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 6:30 pm. Residents will have the opportunity to be heard before a decision is made to approve or deny the "Special-Use Zoning Permit" that would be required to allow this plan to move forward. - This will be our only chance to stop this from going forward.
