An update for all those that have so generously lent their support to the campgain so far! Since launching the petition a couple of weeks ago we have seen progress in a number of areas: 

- The petition has amassed almost 360 supporters! We have been pleased to find that despite the building's anonymity in recent years there are many others that share our optimism and belief in a public future. We hope the petition will continue to raise awarenesss about WMC.

- We have received a formal response from Sydney Living Museums confirming that they will not be in a postition to acquire the site at present. While this has been disspointing news, we understand the economic challenges associated with site and were glad to hear that SLM acknowlege the significant value and potential of the building!

- The building was brought to auction on Tuesday evening where it was passed in at $10 million. Despite interest from mulitple parties in the residential potential of the site, only a single bid was made. Negotiations with a potential buyer remain ongoing. 

We remain optimistic about WMC's future and are exploring avenues to further the conversation about it's public potential as more information becomes available.
