Wow! Thank you all so much for the shares and the support! Here's where things stand right now: I am in touch with a member of the school board who is reviewing the case. It seems that the board members were not notified of the situation, and they are all being informed this morning. I want to say a quick thank you to the person who helped me get in touch with the board so quickly (you know who you are). Right now, it seems that the school acted unilaterally in the decision to suspend him, and the school board members are working with the County Public Information Officer to determine what was actually reported to the media that originally reported the story. They shall not be named, because I do not fully agree with the fact that they named an innocent victim in a case that has to do with cyberbullying and sexual harassment. (Seriously, as a person who works in the media, I am ashamed) Now that it's out there, I have reached out to an old friend in the local media, and a local station is working on the story. I do not live close enough to be on camera in support of Mr. Laughinghouse, but I'm currently looking for people who are nearby, who would be willing to tell their story about his influence in the Swansboro High School Community. I have a former co-worker of Mr. L getting in touch with him to tell him about the support he's received. I told that person that I would rather her just let him know we are all here for him, than ask him to speak with any former students about this issue unless he wants to do so.
