Suspension of OPP Contracts in Ontario

Suspension of OPP Contracts in Ontario
The Issue
I am deeply concerned about how the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) operate and exercise their abuse of power as law enforcement officers.
What is witnessed and experienced is that the OPP behaves more like a group of renegades than peace officers committed to upholding justice. A cult.
They pick and choose which calls to respond to as if they are above the law, undermining the principles they are sworn to protect. Judge, Jury, executioner.
In Ontario, taxpayers fund the OPP to protect and serve, yet their actions often contradict their duty.
Taxpayers are paying for competitive wages and benefits.
At a municipality, this takes money we have, away from our community, helping our homeless, shelters, roads hospitals.
Provinces that don't have a large police force or a fishing industry to pay for pay 5% tax. Ontario is paying 13% tax. The OPP is the difference in our tax, an increase of 8%
As well as having other ways to funding the RCMP, Federal tax is already helping the RCMP. Why does Ontario pay for 2 police forces? The RCMP is our nations symbol.
Their overbearing presence often does not equate to justice being delivered. They turn victims into criminals to enable their laziness. Or escoalte situations when their job is to assess the situation. Prevent further crimes or escalation.
Too many times, OPP officers act as judge and jury, a role that is not theirs to claim, and in doing so, executioner. They fail to uphold the law fairly and responsibly. Creating criminals.
The misconduct is border-to-border. The officers are influenced by their supervisors, co-workers, and experience; they all behave in the same way. They are being taught to exploit the loopholes to violate civil rights. They hide behind a process that they are aware of not being effective for civilian justice. Ignoring a crime is equivalent to running away from the law.
Furthermore, the privileges and salaries they enjoy seem disproportionate to the service they provide. What they stand for and how they conduct themselves is disproportionate to our laws.
Teach officers longer; they are put into the field too early, and the results are clear.
While they sit on their laurels, serious matters are neglected, and justice remains elusive. They should be more like the RCMP, investigating every call and report, serving the public who pays their wages.
Those with the responsibility to enforce the law are also held accountable to it. It is not acceptable to ignore any complaint about the opp and smirk; the LECA takes complaints. Your bad faith is not tolerated, you don't hide the process of justice behind LECA. You uphold the law or join your partner in crime in court.
Opp are people and not above the law. If an OPP officer breaks the law, they should be subject to arrest and due process like any other citizen. Special privileges that shield them from this must be dismantled.
I urge the Ministry to suspend the renewal of OPP's yearly contract, placing the department under investigation, oversight, and pending reform.
All calls and reports should be handled by an independent investigative body (RCMP) until trust in the OPP can be properly restored. This is not just about paying them; it’s about demanding that justice is not only done but seen to be done by those meant to uphold it.
Keeping citizens from being victims of the OPP. Knowing how to properly handle a situation without violence or leaving people upset. Preventing crime!
Join me in calling for justice and accountability within the Ontario Provincial Police.
Let’s create a system where law enforcement officers are genuinely in service to the community, not above it.
Deciding what phone calls you will investigate is not enough. Everyone deserves justice and a fair trial. The opp is not judge, jury and executioner.
Keep the opp away from our minors. Children lack the capasity to understand that someone they were fooled into trusting, called their parents criminals and destroyed their life. Keep our minors safe from the Opp, issolation, alienation, abuse and entrapment.
By signing, we ask you, the ministry, to take the opp off our streets and reform their conduct. Train longer. Teach civil rights. Stop pushing peace bonds on victims to ignore crimes. Educate. Get higher standards, more qualifications. Learn people skills. Learn how to deal with situations. Investigate all reports and calls, police or civilian. Ensure the responsible and fair enforcement of our laws.
It is vital to take them off the streets, as more and more people lose faith in the Opp daily. A reputation that they won't get back.
The RCMP has much more reasonable pay for the work they put in, and they will remain the symbol of our Nation, upholding the law. As they are educated to do so.
We want a police force that works for our community, putting service to taxpyers first, help them threw their hard times, lay charges as a last resort! Ensure our communities thrive while lowering the need for rehabilitation, court, jail, social programs and such. Everyone goes threw hard times, stop giving them criminal records for it.
Give people their right to lay charges back.
When you hear the words "public service" what do you think of? Helping others?
Intent to address the needs of aggregate members of a community.
Onatrio's tax is to high, cut the OPP's spending and the amount of employee's back and reform them.
