It is the right of the American people to keep and bear arms,

Americans all over the country including the fine state of Maine are concerned with the growing number of firearm laws in this country. Firearms are used in this country three million times of year in self defense saving untold amounts of lives. The American people have a right afforded to us in the constitution to bear arms. This has been held in the supreme court. The Maine constitution has this right as well and we as the people have a right to arms. We propose Maine becomes a sanctuary for the 2nd Amendment. Meaning the rejection of any policy from the federal government that would deprive Mainers of their right to bear arms. I.e. the rejection of Universal Background Checks, Bans on certain firearms based on Appearance and many more proposed policies on the table in Washington. 

It is essential we preserve the 2nd Amendment in its entirety as many Law Abiding citizens use them for lawful purposes Hunting, Competition and Defense.

I call on Janet Mills, Susan Collins and the Senate of Maine to preserve the rights of Mainers and Citizens. Make Maine a sanctuary for freedom, Join the effort like those found in Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming and Kansas.
