I feel People mistreat animals too often and it's either because they don't care or they can get away with it with only a few months in jail or maybe even just a fine since Animal Cruelty is only a level 6 Felony or misdemeanor. If these people see they can face some serious jail time for doing these actions they might quit or at the very least be put in jail to face their crimes and have a real sentence they can't get out of so easily. Imagine if your dog or cat got out of the house one day and you found it just beaten and broken because someone thought it would be "fun" or they were just bored. Please if you care about animals in any sense sign this petition so we can at least make Indiana a safer place for your best friend.
