Waseem Rizvi who is a former chairman of the UP Shia waqf Board had recently filed a PIL in the Supreme court of India seeking that “26 verses of the Holy Quran be removed”. Rizvi in his petition has stated that the Quran, the holy book of Muslims, has “some verses that are used to promote terrorism, violence, jihad”.

The facts of the PIL have been maliciously drafted to defame the religion of Islam and promote a sectarian divide among the Muslims.

That the applicant for this online petition is a Shia Muslim and is objecting to the facts of the PIL filed by Waseem Rizvi that is not only historically incorrect but defamatory in its every word; as such this online petition is meant to object the PIL filed by Waseem Rizvi that has hurt the religious sentiments of all the Muslims and the same cannot be tolerated.

That every person has a right to profess, promote and propogate his religion; except in case if it defames and hurts the religious sentiments of other religions as such the PIL stands void.

That Waseem Rizvi has also levelled defamatory accusations on the companions of the Holy Prophet of Islam and the same is condemned and objected.

That the Holy Quran is the religious book of Muslims and not of one individual and as such he has no locus standi to file this petition on behalf of any Islamic School of thought.

That it is visible that all muslims of every school of thought have strongly condemned this PIL and have taken this action as highly defamatory.

That the Supreme court of India should immediately dismiss this PIL and initiate a Defamatory case against Waseem Rizvi.
