Suppress World Hunger!!!

Suppress World Hunger!!!
The Issue
I care about ending world hunger because this is an issue millions of people in the United States suffer from daily. Others live in countries where hunger and poverty is not uncommon. Many of those people may not have access to relief agencies, local food pantries, or food programs. There is enough food in the world for everyone to get fed however, it just isn't distributed properly. About 1/3 of all food that is produced for human consumption gets lost or wasted, worldwide, which is about 1.3 billion tons. World Hunger is something that can be solved with enough cooperation from dictators and world powers everywhere. The general public also needs to raise awareness, take action, and inspire others, including big powers, to do the same.
Did you know?
Over 16.6% of the world's population is undernourished and 1 billion people are living in extreme poverty. Hunger is the cause of 45% of all children's deaths. Every year, 3.1 million children die from hunger-related causes and there are still 99 million children under age five still undernourished and underweight. Undernourishment can compromise immune systems, delay cognitive development, stunt growth, cause pregnancy complications, and so much more.
Now it is time to act and advocate for world hunger.
Depending upon how committed you are, there are different ways that you can help. A simple way is to donate spare change to any food relief agencies or organizations, such as Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), World Food Program (WFP), or any Hope for Haiti Now telethon related program. Donating non-perishable food items to a local food shelf is another easy option. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that sends out nutritious food to people that need it. Even though this organization is Minnesota based, they help people globally. It’s also volunteer run which means you could sign up and visit during your weekend or free time. Each session is one and a half hours long and also includes a mini shop. All profits made go to the creators of the product, which are mostly struggling women on the African continent. Visit FMSC, or donate spare change to help out with a good cause. You can also go to the World Food Program's website where they give you options to help suppress hunger. They allow you to play a game called "Freerice." It's trivia based, and it's where you get to pick the topic and for every answer you get correctly, 10 grains of rice is donated to change lives. WFP and partners supported more than 947,000 smallholder farmers in 44 countries. WFP procured 117,000 metric tons of food valued at US 51.9 million from small holder farmers in 27 countries. Start today!! Once this petition gets as many signatures as it needs I will send it to our elected officials to do more for our cause!!
Food is not a luxury!! Spread awareness now.
