We Need Your Support!
Please sign this petition to show your support for local educators! Yuba Community College District professors have been without a contract for over two years now.
While administrators give themselves raises, faculty haven’t received a pay increase in four years. In fact, our checks are smaller because the District has more than doubled our monthly healthcare costs. The District has violated labor laws, pushed more work on us, and generally complicated the negotiating process by using taxpayer money to hire high-priced lawyers from Southern California to lead their negotiating team. If you believe taxpayer money should go to education, NOT litigation and raises for those at the TOP, we need your support!

We support Yuba College and Woodland Community College faculty in their fight for a fair contract. We urge the District and its Board of Trustees to negotiate in good faith and recognize the crucial role faculty play in the Yuba-Sutter, Woodland, and Colusa and Lake County communities.
Our faculty go above and beyond, mentoring students, leading extracurricular activities, and guiding academic and professional growth. Despite faculty’s crucial role in student success, the District shows little respect or appreciation for their efforts.
Faculty have been without a contract for over two years. During this time, YCCD has increased class sizes, canceled courses at the last minute, and failed to provide raises, leaving faculty among the lowest-paid in California. Rising healthcare costs and inflation have further eroded their earnings. Additionally, a judge recently ruled that the District acted unlawfully and engaged in unfair labor practices by taking away faculty seniority rights during negotiations.
While faculty are doing more work for less pay, the District prioritizes administrator raises, meritless litigation, and expensive lawyers. Spending on faculty has decreased, while administrator salaries and benefits have risen. The District claims it can’t afford fair raises, yet sits on its largest budget and reserves in nearly a century.
We call on Chancellor Pan and the Board to prioritize faculty respect and compensation, aligning their actions with their stated commitment to serving students. We demand serious negotiations to reach an agreement that allows everyone to focus on what truly matters: student success.
