Fight Back Against Transphobia in the Workplace

Hey folks,

Since this petition was launched in the summer of last year, we ratified our union contract and secured new benefits for the workers at Pavement. The contract brought new rules and procedures for how management is supposed to engage with it's labor force.

However, since our ratification, Pavement has often failed to address worker issues in a meaningful way. Most recently, the company covered up incidents of transphobic & intimidating behavior from a coworker at the Brighton location, and then fired 4 trans employees who took measures to protect themselves against this coworker.

We've launched another tabling campaign to fight back on this issue and to have the company reinstate these workers with backpay. We're asking folks to please sign this new petition (https://chng.it/5tJSWthhNJ and to share it widely on social media (https://www.instagram.com/p/CqX5V0ZuCVg/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Pavement utilizes the visibility of it's queer employees as part of their branding and "inclusive" image in the Boston community. It's going to take mobilization of it's entire workforce and a huge section of the community to pressure management to meet our demands. Thank you for your help on this issue!

In solidarity,

Pavement United
