Happy new year everyone!

What’s your New Year’s Resolution? Mine is to continue advocating for more safe active transportation infrastructure like these new bike facilities on Old Georgetown Road. We all deserve to be able to safely move around our communities no matter the mode we choose.

If you haven’t shared this petition yet, would you please do so? Or even share it again. 

You could also reach out to individuals you know around Montgomery County and Maryland. A personal invalidation to sign is so important.

Here are a few more things you can do.

1. Use this Washington Area Bicyclists Association tool to also directly voice your support of these bike lanes.
2. Email your local government about their plans to expand their active transportation network. Advocate for specific changes you’d like to see. 
3. Ask your state and federal delegations what their plans are to support the expansion of active networks across the country. 

I hope next year brings you more protected bike lanes, more places to walk and roll safely, and slower cars when you encounter them.
