Our #BuildABetterFuture Interactive Livestream is now only three sleeps away and the program is looking incredible! There is so much squeezed into four hours I couldn’t possibly go through it all!
From First Nations leaders, world renowned climate scientists, Pacific Climate Warriors, frontline workers and of course us students, the program will blow your mind. Check it out in the graphic attached!
Personally, I am most excited that we have prioritised climate justice in the Livestream. Tragically the impacts of the climate crisis like extreme weather, rising sea levels and heat waves will be felt first and worst by First Nations people, people of colour and workers. This is not fair and we must do better.
Like the climate crisis, COVID-19 offers us all a chance to reset and address the injustices experienced by many people on the margins of our communities. We have a chance to build a fairer future that prioritises the land rights of First Nations people, a future where everyone is welcomed and cared for and one where every worker is guaranteed well paid, safe and meaningful work in their communities.
