The #ClimateStrike is tomorrow!* We’re all running around doing last minute banner painting, stage making, media calls and moral support for the school strike to demand climate action from our politicians.
The headlines are buzzing with school strike news - profiles of amazing leaders, attacks from out of touch conservative commentators and politicians, unions, schools and teachers backing the strike.
We have no doubt that tomorrow is going to HUGE. Can you chip in to our crowdfunder to cover the costs of 51 school strikes across the country?
We’ve set up a crowd-funder thanks to our mates at the Australian Youth Climate Coalition to cover the growing costs of supporting tens of thousands of school students to have their voice heard.
Your support will go towards:
- Promoting our strikes: Printing posters and flyers, paying for online ads and bulk text messages to spread the word about our events
- Strike logistics: Gear (e.g. stage hire, sound etc) for strikes in the major cities and their regional counterparts
Materials: Buying paints and banners for us to decorate and show proudly at the strike - Post-strike momentum: Logistics and promotion for post-strike Town Hall events and MP candidates forums actions across the country which will channel the momentum generated by our March 15 strike into sustained local action that puts climate change front and centre of the Federal Election and beyond
We are school students and supporters who are running this mega school strike on the skin of our teeth. The AYCC have offered to house this support so we can focus on climate action, and so it would mean the world to us if you could chip in what you can to power the student climate movement tomorrow, and beyond.
We are all SO excited for tomorrow - tonnes of people - young and old - all over the world will be striking, marching through the streets and fighting for our lives.
