Hi,
First of all, I hope this note finds you healthy and well. The Corona Virus has created an extraordinary and unsettling moment for all of us, but one where we see people pulling together to protect each other.
Many of you have shared that you've come recognize how critical a reliable electric grid is during this time of national emergency. Most of my organization's members are not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities, We have seen them take exceptional measures to ensure that our communities have the electricity we need during this challenging period.
Several of you have reached out to say that you're more determined than ever to speak up for the lower Snake River dams and the reliable electricity they provide. Today from 4:00-8:00 PM Pacific Time is the first opportunity to participate in a phone-in meeting to express your views. (They are encouraging people to join at 3:30 due to slow sign-in times.)
For information on how to participate, go to our website https://nwriverpartners.org/join-us/ and click on the "Call Into Public Teleconference Button". That will take you to the federal information page.
I do want to emphasize you can truly make a difference! In the recently released Lower Snake River Dam Stakeholder Process Final Draft Report, it was noted that 51% of the comments came from people who said that retaining the lower Snake River Dams was a primary concern, as opposed to 39% who said that breaching them was a top concern.
It shows that we can be heard!
Thank you,
Kurt
