We have an opportunity to build a new train system connecting River Islands/Lathrop, through Tracy and Mountain House, with a direct connection to the BART Station in Pleasanton. This is separate from, and in addition to, the ACE train system. This is known as the Valley Link Train. This would make a large impact on the commuter traffic on the I-205 / I-580 during rush hour and take hundreds of cars off the road. This would also allow residents of the Valley to connect with BART and other municipal transit systems without needing to drive over the Altamont Pass.
