Hello Again Supporters.  Its been a minute since I last reached out to everyone as personal life has gotten in the way but I was overall happy about the continued support this petition has gained.   I have a couple of exciting announcements.

First of all we have heard back from a State rep

One of the supporters of the bill and Rep of District 88 Amy Poulin has reached out and confirmed her continued support and has had hearings in support of this.  She seems to be a great ally and we appreciate her support.  You can Read her statement here

NJ Passed legalization

NJ has approved a bill to evaluate the effectiveness of psilocybin in a clinical setting.  This will help garner support in our state and across the country. Read about it here

Cannabis Rescheduling

Although not strictly Pslio related a federal loosening of Cannabis could help other mislabeled drugs like psilocybin to also get a second look.  Read here

Addressing concerns about HPPD

Some people have come out to talk to me about concerns around HPPD (hallucination persistent perception disorder). Here are the facts about HPPD.  HPPD is rare occurring in about of 4% of all hallucinogens users by some estimates and I couldn't find much about it happening in clinical settings. The most common drug to get it with is LSD its rarer but still happens with psilocybin. I also see this as any more common then qt prolongation and increased suicidal thoughts in current ssri users. Most confirmed HPPD cases are type 1 usually benign and go into remission with cessation of use of hallucinogens. Type 2 while harder to treat also can go into remission with symptom based treatments. The Bills this petition looks at also have health screening provisions and many risk factors for hppd would be screened for and as more research comes out there will be more risk factors known.

Dont let the momentum stop!
