Day #7: Bhim Rudan Yatra for Untouchability-free India

From Martin Macwan at the border of Rajasthan and Haryana:

The Bhim Rudan Yatra for Untouchability-free India has been stopped by the authorities at the border, with a huge police force with riot gear and water cannons. The police have said that they have orders from the Indian government not to allow the yatra to continue. Local officials offered the marchers a place to stay and to serve them food, but the marchers declined the offer, saying that they will not accept any hospitality from those who are forcefully stopping a peaceful, non-political march to shine the light on untouchability -- an issue that the ruling class often proclaims that they too are committed to end.

It seems that the hope that leaders of Parliament may meet them and accept the 'equality coin' to be placed in the Parliament building is fading.
