On March 28,2016, outside Sunnyvale Family Court Department 83 a DCSS lawyer, Michael Mears, discussed with a private Santa Clara lawyer, that he was greatly disappointed that a support hearing would not take place that pitted Brad Baugh against Robert Tennant, on child support issues. Mike told the private lawyer that he enjoyed watching Baugh argue and implied admiration for how Baugh is consistently known for getting wealthy clients out of legal child support payments. This is a lawyer paid by the State of California to act in collection of support for kids. Litigants who heard the remarks were appalled at the conduct of a Department of Child Support Services lawyer, who is supposed to protect children, not highly paid lawyers who spend their effort defrauding the court to get clients out of supporting their own children. The public is further alarmed that Brad Baugh is routinely appointed as a children's lawyer and often paid with public funds , when corruption in Santa Clara Family Court is systemic and epidemic. The most corrupt must be dealt with by the US Attorney General and the State Legislature since the State Bar and CJP have refused.
