After our posting of a Grandma who lost years with her 7 grandchildren because of her son's divorce, we were swarmed with emails from other grandparents sharing similar stories. One Grandma from North Carolina wrote that her daughter suffered a head injury and family court branded her mentally ill and took her child. The grandma offered to take over the child, and care for her daughter, and DSS unleashed the corrupt and harassing conduct seen in all of our states. We support the grandma in her difficult job of caring for her child. DSS is shameful, and family courts are clearly out of touch with modern science . Having a head injury deserves our compassion, not family court scorn. The Grandma is still caring for her daughter, fighting to keep her grandchild and now faces eviction due to foreclosure. Shouldn't family court welcome grandparents who step up to take on the care of their grandchildren, not try to destroy them ?
