While investigating the Sunnyvale Family Courthouse, a disturbing pattern appears to be present regarding the use of vocational examiners .
A vocational examiner was used in the Cheriton case , imputing income to a stay at home wife for teaching opera lessons, so her Stanford professor husband , with $542,000,000 in tech stock could get out of paying child support.
Vocational experts are supposed to be able to tell a court what litigants in family law cases can earn in a fair employment market, for purposes of support payment consideration.
These experts appear to be paid excessive fees, and then act merely for the purpose of getting a paying client an order for GET OUT OF SUPPORT FOR FREE from the court, often sending the reported spouse on to federal support or to bankruptcy .
Some judges are suspect of these faux experts, others , as in Sunnyvale, use them to virtually draft their support orders.
An investigative group finds that these vocational experts offer very little in the way of professional benefit. They use outdated testing, not used by current HR practices, and they often generate a report that offers no support other than information easily found on the internet. Their bills indicate they are paid more than the amount of a child support request a payer seeks to avoid.
Vocational examiner bills appear to range from $1500 to $75,000 and appear connected more to the assets of the paying spouse than the evaluations the expert performs.
Vocational examiners appear to be just one more paycheck on the family law kickback list, that is widely abused by a core group of lawyers and judges in Santa Clara County .
A current investigation also reveals that vocational experts often discuss cases that includes personal information. These discussions have been reported to be with other litigants and lawyers, and privacy issues are at hand.
Vocational experts are now being added to the list of crooked fiduciaries and experts connected and supported by Santa Clara County Family Courts. Where justice appears only available to the spouse who pays to get it.
