Wednesday 10 December 2025 marked international Human Rights Day. It is a good time to reflect and encourage those around us that people matter. Accessible, affordable, and adequate food is a basic human right, and one our government is supposed to be committed to.
Government continues to fail everyday Australians, with the recent withdrawal of government rebates for electricity subsidies another blow the average day Aussie could not afford, especially coming into the Festive season.
To date 1,227 wonderful people have supported the Grocery Subsidy Scheme (GSS) petition, and to you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is thanks to you this petition will succeed.
I have been interviewed by a local paper regarding the GSS, however, it is uncertain whether they will ran an article. Additionally, I am engaging with corporate Australia for their support and advocacy, and am in the process of discussing the GSS with the Commonwealth Bank. These efforts may lead to further support but your continued support is vital.
Once again, I call on you to share this petition with everyone you can and help start the larger conversation.
People matter!
Cheers,
Dave
