Support the Adoption of the Housing Crisis Resolution by Fayetteville City Council

Support the Adoption of the Housing Crisis Resolution by Fayetteville City Council
The Issue
We, the residents of Fayetteville, AR, are deeply invested in making our city a place where everyone can call home. This petition is not just about policy; it's personal. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to live, so on March 19th, we will be gathering at City Hall to voice our support for the City Council's adoption of the housing resolution and officially declare a housing crisis in the city of Fayetteville. This petition and its signatures will serve as further proof that we, as a community, are committed to making Fayetteville a city where everyone has a safe, clean, and affordable place to call home. This is sponsored by Council Members D'Andre Jones and Sarah Moore.
The housing resolution we will propose to our City Council aims to address this issue head-on. It seeks to establish policies that will ensure affordable housing for all residents and reduce homelessness in our community. According to data from the U.S Census Bureau, approximately 28% of renters in Fayetteville spend more than 30% of their income on rent - a clear indicator that many are struggling with housing affordability. And that statistic doesn't touch the number of unhoused or those living with unstable housing.
By supporting this resolution, we can help create a city where no one has to worry about having a roof over their heads. We urge you to join us in backing this critical initiative and make Fayetteville an even better place for all its residents.
