#WORKWELLFORLESS Dear All, The first stage of the consultation for all Sainsbury’s staff contracts is now over and here is the latest news. Despite 110,000 of us signing this petition and the valiant efforts of Siobhain McDonagh MP and the 112 other MPs in speaking out and in writing to the Prime Minister, Sainsbury's have chosen to ignore us all, showing an unprecedented level of contempt for our opinion and fair process. Our fate appears clear: SIGN OR RESIGN. There’s been no answers to our questions, preposterous claims that only “less than ten colleagues” are affected by these changes* whilst there's money for a £1.8 million share BONUS for CEO Mike Coupe**- he’s “in the money” for sure! The first consultation stage is now over. Your help has led to some small wins (thank you!) but there’s a long way to go. The latest reality is that 9,000 staff are set to lose up to £3,000 per year. Was the consultation process fair? The thousands of us losing out certainly don’t think so. Mike Coupe can not pretend he did not know about our concerns as his classic doublespeak response to our petition is there for all to see. The lack of changes is an insult to us all, all 110,000 of us. For those of us seeing our salaries slashed, our voices have not been heard in this consultation process and this petition has been the only way to let Sainsbury's know how we feel. I started this as a last resort. I feel sickened that this has happened and they have are getting away with it scot free. This precedent will happen in every workplace herein, your current employment contract is not worth the paper it is written on. THIS IS DEPLORABLE. And the newspapers certainly seem to agree!
