SUPPORT RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT, BUILD GREEN!

The Issue

Bulgari Resort Los Angeles is a forthcoming eco-friendly sanctuary in Los Angeles, located in the majestic Santa Monica Mountains, only minutes from Rodeo Drive. The 58-room resort and eight homes will be nestled amongst 33 acres of a stunning hillside property, integrated with natural wildlife and surrounded by unobstructed, remarkable views. The development also includes a community dog park to benefit the entire neighborhood.

Bulgari Resort is poised to be the first hotel in the area that embodies the culture of Los Angeles and allows a guest to experience a true indoor/outdoor living experience that honors and celebrates the natural beauty of the Beverly Hills canyons. Instead of an overcrowded development of private, fenced-in properties, the design reflects respect for the canyon environment and views, conforming to its natural topography and maximizing open space with borderless landscaping that allows native wildlife to roam free. The proposed plans include much-needed fire infrastructure and a proposed shelter in place for the safety of the entire neighborhood, precariously under threat from a changing climate. Additional attributes of the project include:

GREEN DEVELOPMENT

  • Responsible and sustainable development
  • Net Zero Greenhouse Gases (GHG)
  • LEED Gold Certified
  • Nearly three-quarters of the site is open space
  • Wildlife and Habitat Stewardship
  • Restoring and protecting native, drought- and fire-resistant plants and trees
  • Designed to reduce habitat fragmentation and protect natural wildlife migration

JOB CREATION

  • Significant job creation
  • Project Labor Agreement - Union Endorsed
  • Equal opportunity employer

COMMUNITY RESPONSIVE

  • Modest 58 rooms and eight homes
  • Uncompromising contemporary design that respects the natural landscape
  • Designed to protect wildlife and human neighbors from sound pollution
  • Increasing the safety of the neighborhood by strengthening security and infrastructure
  • The dog park supports community integration, bringing neighborhood families together

FIRE SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Improving fire safety and protection for the Canyon and all of its neighbors.  Building new fire access roads and widening roads to increase emergency access and reduce traffic, adding water mains and several new fire hydrants spread throughout the property, a built-in community shelter-in-place (in case of a fire), and an on-site emergency response vehicle. The eco-conscious landscaping shall remove all existing non-native and fire-prone trees and replace them with all native plants. These additions will ensure the protection of the property and enhance fire safety for the entire neighborhood and nearby nature reserves.

I'm happy to support The Bulgari Resort and hope it moves forward without delay.

The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously stated, “Nothing endures but change.” It’s up to us to create responsible changes to our surroundings that protects wildlife and enhances our communities. I’m proud to support this development that sustainably enhances Benedict Canyon. Can I count on your support too?
