Support Refugee Resettlement in our Country

The issue

On March 26, 2024, the Australian Government introduced the Migration Amendment (Removal and Other Measures) Bill 2024. This bill proposes the removal of non-citizens from Australia—regardless of their contributions, their families, or the lives they’ve built here. It is an unjust and heartless measure that violates basic human rights and fails to consider the individual circumstances of those affected.

Many of these refugees have spent over six years in Australia, building a life from scratch. They have contributed to society by paying taxes, running businesses, and raising families. These individuals sought refuge in Australia to escape war, persecution, and discrimination. Now, the government seeks to send them back to dangerous situations, or to unknown third-party countries, without any clear assurances about their safety or human rights. This is a cruel and unnecessary policy with no regard for the well-being of the people it targets.

I urge every Australian who values freedom, respect, fairness, and equality to stand against this bill. We must reject a one-size-fits-all approach that ignores the humanity of each refugee. Instead, we should support a system that considers each individual case on its merits and allows those who have built lives here to stay and thrive in safety.

Please join me in calling for the abolition of this harmful bill. Sign the petition, share it widely, and stand with those who deserve a chance to live in peace, not fear. Your support could make all the difference in this crucial moment.
