Support PSRA Referee Labor Negotiations - Boycott MLS Concessions

The Issue

Major League Soccer’s referee employer, the Professional Referee Organization (PRO), has locked out the top referees in our country, represented by Professional Soccer Referees Association (PSRA).

After the tentative agreement was soundly rejected, PRO/MLS offered an eleventh-hour nostrike/no-lockout deal for the entire 2024 season that would have: (1) frozen referees’ wages at levels negotiated in 2019; (2) rolled back job security provisions; and (3) provided no additional consideration from MLS or PRO for increased workload and travel. For obvious reasons, this request was rejected.

The additional PSRA expectations amount to less than approximately $100,000 per team in 2024.

We the fans of this league can easily make each team feel a $100,000 loss if MLS continues to lock out the top referees. We pledge to:

1) Boycott Concessions

2) Boycot Merchandise purchases

The average customer spent $32.02 on concessions at their last visit to a sport/concert stadium.

This means that if 95 fans per club, or 2755 fans total, sign this petition across the league and decide to not spend their normal $32.02 per match for each MLS game this year, that will be $3 million in lost revenue for MLS clubs equating how much they're locking the referees out over.

With increased cost of living and inflation in recent years, we ask you to stand with your fellow workers!
