Petition updateSupport Plank: Stop Unjust Expulsion of Innocent Student in Upper AdamsUpdates on Last Night's Board Meeting at Upper Adams

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's meeting in support of the Plank family.

The actual meeting was quite short. The vote went against the Planks with a 5-3 vote to "approve the adjudication in the student discipline matter." However, their attorney indicated that the decision is not exactly final, and that more will be done today and in the next few days. I was told that the vote results are "not what it looks like." I am no legal expert and I suggest you watch the news report below, with the attorney's statements and the article that accompanies it.

The Plank family conducted themselves remarkably well, and there was plenty of laughter and hugging among all the supporters. We remained in the auditorium for a long time, and then gathered again in the hallway. Absolutely nobody felt threatened that their daughter was there, making a public comment and hugging her friends. Nobody was in danger and everybody knew that they were not in danger.

I am not an expert on these things, and much of what the board does is kept secret for various legal reasons. My suggestion is to watch the CBS news report with the attorney's statements, which you can click below.

Here is the CBS news report: https://local21news.com/news/local/upper-adams-school-board-met-with-anger-confusion-following-meeting-on-student-discipline#

The headline about "anger and confusion" is mostly clickbait, but the lawyer's comments are the important part. The camera zeroed into one short incident between two men that lasted about three seconds. Other than that everyone was polite. When it ended there were tears, but more smiles and laughter than tears.

Please keep donating to the Planks' legal defense fund. It looks like this is not over. Donate here: https://www.givesendgo.com/GD6JA?openShareModal=true
