Hello team,

Here are a few quick updates on the situation at Upper Adams.

The expulsion hearing for the Planks on Friday went over five hours, but no decisions were made. No new evidence was presented and no explanation was offered for why it took 18 months for the administration to take action.

Next Meeting

The board has agreed to meet to make their decision tomorrow, Wednesday Sept, 11, at 7:30PM. Please pray for a righteous outcome and for the Plank family in the middle of this!

It is a public meeting, so everyone is free to attend. You do not need to live in the district to attend. Your peaceful and polite support there would be a powerful statement to the community and would be a blessing to the Planks.

If you want to make a public comment you need to live in the district and you need to email questionsforboard@upperadams.org at least 24 hours ahead of time and inform them that you wish to make a public comment. I do not know if this meeting will allow for public comments, but that is the procedure to follow in case they do. In any case, the meeting is public, and all of us are allowed to be there in support even if you do not live in the district.

Legal Defense Donations

The legal defense fund will help the Planks directly. They are paying their attorney for his time, and it is time consuming to defend against false accusations. Imagine paying your attorney to defend you while the school uses your tax dollars to pay their lawyer to attack you. That is what is happening to the Planks right now. The change.org website on this email will ask you to "take the next step" and donate money somewhere at the bottom of this email. I would not recommend doing that. I did not set that up, and that money does not go to the Planks legal defense. It just pays for ads to advertise the petition itself. We do not need to advertise this petition. You will get more signers simply by email/text/sharing the petition to friends and ask them to do it. 

Prayer

Pray for the Planks! Pray that they would grow together more and more in the love of God and the love and support of this community. Pray for the board to make the right decision and for this to be over quickly!
