Thank you for signing the petition in support of a statewide K–12 Bell-to-Bell cell phone policy in Connecticut schools.

This Friday, House Bill 5149, the Phone Free Schools bill, will be heard by the Education Committee. This is a critical moment. Legislators need to hear directly from the people who support this policy.

Here is how you can help:

1.     Email your state legislators. Tell them why you support a Bell-to-Bell ban and why leaving it to individual districts has not worked. Personal stories carry real weight. Template email here. Find Your Legislator Here.

2.     Sign up to speak at the hearing or submit written testimony. Even a short paragraph explaining why this matters to your family can make an impact.

3.     Share the petition. Forward it to friends, parent groups, and community networks. Every additional signature strengthens the case that this is a statewide priority.

4.     Stay informed. Sign up for updates from Screen Smart so you can receive action steps as this moves forward.

Additional details, submission links, and simple email templates can be found here: eepurl.com/jzGA_c

Few policy changes cost so little and have the potential to improve classroom focus, student wellbeing, and learning conditions so significantly. But it will only happen if legislators see and hear the support behind it.

Thank you for being part of this effort.

Cheers,
