High School Students across Chesterfield County are organizing a peaceful walkout to protest the presence of ICE in our communities, including the proposed facility in Hanover. Chesterfield County and the greater RVA area are home to a large and diverse immigrant population, and many students, families, and community members are directly impacted by immigration enforcement policies.   
The walkout is planned for February 6th, 2026, from 2:15 to 2:55 PM, and will take place on a half full day of school. The action is intended to be peaceful, organized, and respectful.   
We ask students, parents, and community members to sign this petition in support of peaceful student advocacy and to help demonstrate community backing. Signing this petition does not require attendance at the walkout.
