To all of you who came across Arcanaʼs proposal and public hearing that will take place on August 27th with the Planning Commission of San Francisco, I want to publicly declare that, I Naz Khorram, as the owner of Arcana commit to creating a fair, inclusive and safe space for all of our neighbors and residents of Mission District. As a proud queer aslyum seeker in this country and our beloved city of San Francisco, I am committed to advocating for optimism in reaching your dreams, freedom in being who you are and supporting and empowering the community I have joined. As an artist, an ex political prisoner, a non-binary young small business owner I have first hand experience with the difficulties that people like me face when trying to reach their dreams of a better life and specially when it comes to staring a business. I have worked in this city for almost a decade in the service and entertainment industry and my background and experience only encourages me to do great things that will only serve the people positively in every way possible.

I want to share with you all that Arcana is committed to:

1. Running a full kitchen until 2 am. to serve our community cruelty free, vegan and healthy food.
2. Keeping and preserving the retail store in the front of the property and never to eliminate such use. 3. Affordable prices for our food/retail items to be accessible to all.
4. Hiring staff from the local community, working class families and bilingual Spanish speakers.
5. Being fair in its training and promotion of its employees and to help them grow in their careers.
6. Creating a safe haven for LGBTQ+ community and immigrants.
7. Promoting events that are community centred, culturally and generationally diverse.
8. Promoting local artists and performers during events that are affordable and accessible to all.
9. Hiring a local muralist to do a mural on our storefront that speaks to our Mission community.
10. Creating a discount program for locals to encourage shopping from local small businesses.
11. Dedicating a portion of our proceedings to feed the homeless in our neighborhood.
12. Creating free programs for kids and teenagers who are eager to learn more about growing plants. 13. Creating a welcoming, friendly and a safe place for everybody, specially locals to enjoy.
