The Issue

In Uganda, I faced constant fear and persecution due to my political beliefs. I was part of the People Power movement and later the National Unity Platform (NUP), which advocates for democratic reforms and equal rights.

As members of NUP, we were systematically marginalized, harassed, threatened, beaten, and sometimes killed. Many of my friends and colleagues have been arrested, and I knew staying meant endangering my life.

I fled to Canada to escape this tyranny, seeking safety and the chance to live a life free of fear. Here, I hoped to find refuge and the ability to speak freely, contribute to society, and live with dignity. Unfortunately, my future in Canada is uncertain as I await the decision on my asylum application.

Canada has a proud tradition of offering protection to those fleeing persecution and violence. From aiding refugees during World Wars to providing sanctuary to those fleeing genocides, Canada has stood as a beacon of hope and safety. Denying my plea would not just cut short my dreams and aspirations but would absolutely put my life in great danger.

My prayer is that you support my ongoing court case by adding your signature to this petition, which will be submitted to the court. Your support and eventual success of my Court case would allow me to start anew in a place where human rights are respected and dreams are achievable.

This is a plea for humanity, a call for compassion. Please support my petition and help preserve a life yearning for justice and freedom. Sign to show your solidarity and make a difference.
