We, the people signing this petition, stand with Mr. Tom Carvey and ask the San Lucas Union School District to do what’s right.

Mr. Carvey has been a dedicated teacher at San Lucas School for 12 years. He’s helped many students learn, grow, and feel supported — including our siblings, children, and neighbors.

Now he’s being forced out of the classroom after being told to resign or be fired over something that doesn’t seem fair. This is not how a caring and hard-working teacher should be treated.

Even worse, it sounds like the rules are not being applied equally. Mr. Carvey was punished for a short moment of student supervision, but other staff have done worse with no consequences. That’s not right, and it’s not fair.

We’re asking the school district to:

1. Let Mr. Carvey return to teaching if he wants to.
2. Look into how this whole situation was handled by the school leadership.
3. Make sure teachers are treated fairly and with respect.
4. Be open and honest with the community.

Good teachers matter. Fairness matters. Our schools should be places where people feel safe, supported, and respected — not pushed out for unfair reasons.

Nosotros, las personas que firmamos esta petición, apoyamos al Sr. Tom Carvey y pedimos al Distrito Escolar de San Lucas Union que haga lo correcto.

El Sr. Carvey ha sido un maestro dedicado en la Escuela San Lucas durante 12 años. Ha ayudado a muchos estudiantes a aprender, crecer y sentirse apoyados — incluyendo a nuestros hermanos, hijos y vecinos.

Ahora lo están sacando del salón de clases tras decirle que renuncie o sea despedido por algo que no parece justo. Esta no es la forma en que se debe tratar a un maestro comprometido y trabajador.

Aún peor, parece que no se están aplicando las reglas por igual. Al Sr. Carvey lo castigaron por un momento breve de supervisión estudiantil, pero a otros empleados que han hecho cosas peores no se les ha dado ninguna consecuencia. Eso no está bien ni es justo.

Le pedimos al distrito escolar que:

1. Permita que el Sr. Carvey regrese a enseñar si así lo desea.
2. investigar cómo se manejó toda esta situación por parte de la dirección escolar.
3. Asegure que los maestros sean tratados con justicia y respeto.
4. Sea transparente y honesto con la comunidad.

Los buenos maestros importan. La justicia importa. Nuestras escuelas deben ser lugares donde las personas se sientan seguras, apoyadas y respetadas — no expulsadas por razones injustas.
