Support Missouri HB 2215 for Veterans' Access to Effective Mental Health Treatments

The Issue

I am a military Veteran who has continued to suffer from the symptoms Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

Like many of my fellow veterans, I had almost given up hope of finding a treatment or therapy that could alleviate my symptoms.

In 2019, I had founded Help Our Heroes (HOH). HOH is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), who's mission is to provide consulting and planning services, education, and charity assistance to Heroes (Veterans, military, and first responder communities), Hero affiliated organizations, and or communities in need.

In 2020, HOH provided financial assistance to a disabled Army Ranger in need of lodging while receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment in Hailey, ID.

Remarkably, his PTSD, TBI, and CTE symptoms dramatically improved and he no longer had to walk with a cane after the HBOT treatment.

This encouraged me to try HBOT myself. In February of 2024, TreatNow.org connected me with the Hyperbaric Healing Institute in Kansas City, MO and after 19 treatments, my PTSD and CTE have been drastically improved. I am now off "all" medications (SSRIs, SNRIs, etc).

Now, we have an opportunity with Missouri HB 2215 to ensure that all Veterans have access to treatments like these that are supported by peer-reviewed evidence-based research.

However, this bill needs your support to pass the House, Senate, and be signed into law by the Governor of Missouri.

The suicide rate among veterans in Missouri is alarming at 45.2 per 100,000 - more than double the national average at 18 per 100,000. It's clear we need more effective mental health treatments/therapies for our Veterans who risked their lives for our country.

Supporting this bill is not just about providing access to alternative therapies; it's about giving our veterans hope when they feel there is none left.

We owe it to them for their service and sacrifices.

Please sign this petition today, share it, show your support, and help us get Missouri HB 2215 and HB2883 passed in the House, Senate, and Governor's office, so our deserving veterans can have access to life-changing mental health treatments.

Veterans should NOT have to continue to suffer in silence and have Band-aids put on to alleviate their symptoms.

Give our Veterans an opportunity to "heal" their hidden wounds.
