As you know, June is Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community. It is also the month that is also the month to support those in the community who are also suffering from mental illnesses and mental health issues. This is really important to me because I have a mental illness (I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia) and I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community (I have come out as asexual back in October 2021). Mental health affects members of the LGBTQ+ community and they have been put through some of the most awful situations imaginable and have been disrespected and have been made to feel like they don't belong in society. As a member of this community, I want to say to my fellow members in the LGBTQ+ community: You have my support and I care about each and every one of you. I may not know you personally and I may not have had the same experiences you have faced, but I want each and every one of you to know that you are not alone and you don't have to go through the pain alone. Just know that you are part of a community that is supportive and together we will survive all obstacles that life puts in our way. So, keep the faith and stay strong! Happy Pride Month to you all!!
