Professor Brian Leiter of the University of Chicago just recently said, "The Republicans packed the court after Scalia's death when they denied President Obama his choice. Now they want to pack it further — and more consequentially, given that they would appoint a conservative to replace the liberal Ginsburg. If they pack the court, the Democrats would be crazy not to do their own court packing."
There's starting to be some real talk from more Democrats about abolishing the filibuster and expanding the Court if Republicans rush in a new Justice, but there's still a lot of reticence. We should continue to gather support for Ed Markey to make it clear to the party that we stand behind progressive champions. If you could, sharing the petition would be much appreciated!
